DEFINITIONS
Organizer
The Organizer is Roadhog Events Ltd
Organizers will set the route and organize logistics from point to point (Departure to return)
Organizers will prescribe event tasks
Organizers will judge the event
Roadhog Officers
Officers with the authority of organize the event as prescribed in these terms and conditions
Judging
Judging the event has a particular meaning given the “Soul of the Hog” (see below) and that the event is NOT intended in any way to be a race or a competition. This will involve giving the participants information about who has arrived at a certain destination and when. It may also include giving participants information as to whether or not they have succeeded in any tasks that have been prescribed. This is not in any way intended to encourage any participant to deviate from the “Soul of the Hog” and is intended for information purposes only. It is not the intention of Roadhog Events Ltd to use this information for the purpose of prescribing any winner or, ordinarily in any other way detract from participant’s individual responsibility to act within the “Soul of the Hog”.
Individual Responsibility
The purpose of the event is to have fun and raise money for a fantastic charity. Participants are asked to take individual responsibility for their own safety and the safety of others, all participants must be responsible for the safety of their vehicle at all times.
Roadhog Events Limited have a zero tolerance policy of any and all prohibited substances during the event. Participants found to be using prohibited substances will be asked to leave the Drive and we reserve the right to report the offence to the relevant authorities.
Anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated.
Participants must understand and respect the purpose of this event is to support a respectable charitable cause. Participants must do everything in their power to ensure that nothing they do or say impacts negatively on the event – the charity or Roadhog Events Ltd. Participants will drive with due care and attention in accordance with the laws of the highway they are on during the event. Participants are encouraged to enjoy themselves responsibly.
Roadhog Events Ltd reserve the right to allocate a prize or prizes to those teams and individuals who have embraced The Soul Of The Hog, we may consider team work, assisting other participants, quality of vehicle theme and fancy dress, completing ad hoc challenges – amongst other things
We must emphasise the event has no association to a race, this is a Charity Drive.
During registration, all team members will be required to sign a legally binding acceptance of the rules and terms and conditions of Roadhog Charity Drive.
Our dedicated charity is Dreams Come True all participating teams must raise a minimum of £400 per vehicle. Your charity contribution must be validated at the launch and paid directly to Dreams Come True (EG: JustGiving.com/Virginmoneygiving.com or cash on the day). Any shortfall in the £400 you must pay.
Participants and Vehicles.
All participants must hold a valid UK drivers licence and passport.
The entry fee for the 2012 Event is £199 (One hundred and ninety nine pounds) per person with a minimum of two entrants per vehicle. Maximum entrants for your vehicle are set by number of passengers you may carry on UK roads. (According to your vehicles V5)
Every vehicle entered must hold a valid MOT, Vehicle Road Tax, V5 and insurance.
Every participant must be at least 18 years old, we also recommend participants take out health and travel insurances
All vehicles must cost between £1 – £1,000, how much you spend after you purchase the car is down to you – Please remember the whacky and wilder the beast the better!
We suggest you take a functioning CB radio and take out European Breakdown cover.
Roadhog Events Ltd will accept no responsibility or liability for the condition of participant’s vehicles. The health and safety of you – your vehicle and your team is your responsibility.
Roadhog Events Limited accepts no responsibility for the consequences of you being refused passage and/or entry/exit to or from any State or Country visited en route, and any additional costs you incur are your own responsibility.
Every participant is bound by the laws and regulations of the Country in which you are travelling, including without limitation, all speed regulations, laws of the road, laws relating to the safety and roadworthiness of your vehicle and laws relating to the possession or use of alcohol, drugs or other prohibited substances.
If you breach speed regulations and the laws of the road the Organiser reserves the right to exclude you from any further participation in the event. Any attempt to drive/bump your vehicle into a fellow participant’s vehicle whilst driving is strictly prohibited.
If your vehicle sustains accident damage during the drive which could make it unfit for purpose you must not drive it until assessed/repaired by a professional. It is the participant’s responsibility to check the roadworthiness of your tyres / breaks/ lights daily.
It is the participants responsibility to ensure any and all modifications comply with UK and EU vehicle regulations, The Organiser accepts no responsibility for modifications made to participants vehicles.
However…The Organisers absolutely encourage you to go wild with your designs and paint jobs!
Roadhog Events ltd use various methods of transfer from the UK to Europe. Participants are reminded that they must obey the rules and regulations of travel and accommodation. Failure to comply could result in disqualification from the event. Roadhog events ltd have negotiated substantial discounts prior to the event and transport details will be issued closer to the date.You will be responsible for this.
Roadhog Events ltd use camp sites for accommodation during the event. All participants must obey the rules and regulations of the site. Failure to comply with the rules and regulations could result in disqualification from the event. The organisers would like to remind participants that they should take enough equipment to camp each evening. Essential equipment includes Tent and sleeping bag.
You have agreed for Roadhog events ltd to display official events logos and sponsorship on your vehicle. All stickers entered on your vehicle at the launch event should be left of your vehicle for the duration of the event. The organiser accepts no responsibility for damage caused by application or remove of the stickers from your vehicle.
By taking part in the event you consent to being photographed and filmed by the organisers. You here by waiver all rights of publicity and privacy and grant the organisers full and complete permission to use all images gained during the event.
Refund and further policies
We operate a no refund policy before, during or after the event.
Force Majeure – The Organisers are not responsible if they cannot fulfil their obligations resulting from the contracts in cases of fire, earthquake, epidemic diseases announced by WHO, cyclone, flood, aridity, strike, lightning, war in the country, revolution, civil war, terrorist activities and similar troubles, blockade, embargo, confiscation and expropriation, and in other cases defined as Force Majeure by the laws and regulations.
I agree to comply with the terms and conditions of event entry. I acknowledge and understand that the Organiser of Roadhog events ltd will use reasonable efforts to ensure that all other participants abide by the terms and conditions of entry, but cannot guarantee that the participants will abide by these terms and conditions.
In consideration for being permitted to participate in the Roadhog events ltd, I hereby waive, release, and forever discharge, for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators and legal representatives, any and all rights and/or claims which I have, may have, or may hereafter accrue to me against the Organizer, its officers, directors, employees, consultants, agents and event sponsors for any and all damages, injuries (including death), and/or claims which may be sustained by me or my vehicle directly or indirectly arising out of my participation in the Event (including the application of emergency or medical services at the Event) even if the damages, injuries (including death), and/or claims are caused by the negligence of those persons listed above or otherwise save that nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall be construed as excluding or limiting the Organizer’s liability for personal injury or death arising from its negligence or the negligence of persons under its control. Further, I covenant not to sue the Organizer, its officers, directors, employees, consultants, agents and Event sponsors for any and all damages, injuries (including death), and/or claims which may be sustained by me directly or indirectly arising out of my participation in the Event. This release and discharge includes, but is not limited to, claims for personal injury, death, property damage, economic loss, breach of contract, lost wages, contribution indemnity, indemnity, punitive damages, negligence, or any other legally recognizable claim arising out of my participation in the Event (including all legal costs associated with such claims).
I hereby agree to release, defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Organizer, its officers, directors, employees, consultants, agents, Event sponsors and licensees and assigns from and against any and all claims, demands, damages, suits, liabilities or actions arising directly or indirectly out of my actions or otherwise from my participation in the Event whether made or claimed during or after the Event, including all associated costs and expenses and any amounts which the Organizer may pay as a settlement or compromise of any such claims or liabilities.
I have read this waiver, fully understand its terms, and understand that I have given up substantial rights by agreeing to these terms and conditions. I have done so freely and without inducement, coercion, or duress. I intend this waiver to be a complete and unconditional release of all liability to the greatest extent allowed by law. I agree that, if any portion of this waiver is held to be invalid, the balance of the waiver shall continue in full force and effect.
Please note that by completing the entry form and accepting these terms and conditions you are concluding a legally binding agreement with us to participate in the Event on these terms and conditions.
