Firstly we are participants. We have participated in many events and have been very successful. We are car enthusiast who are passionate about getting like minded people together to take part in an annual event that will provide stories that you can tell for years. From buying your car to get home, your experience will be one that you can share proudly. The support that we provide to Dreams Come True helps many children in the UK enjoy a better life. We aim to ensure that you have a great time at every step. Our team will provide you with support at every stage, from gaining sponsorship to getting home. We are always available to take your calls, so please pick up the phone if you have questions.
This is a good question and one often raise by our female entrants. It is very likely that your car will make the drive. Most cars cover thousands of mile in their life, but... plan for emergencies! It's encouraged that you should assist your fellow entrants if you see a entrant broken down. The spirit award recognises those who go above and beyond participation. If you are really worried about breakdown, people like the AA will offer European cover. The main thing to remember is it is an adventure.
Unlike many events of this type, we take great pride in going before you, running the run in advance and learning and tweaking if necessary!
We visit the camp sites, we stand in the bars/clubs, we drive the roads you will drive - and we sample the fun before you even know the locations!
Roadhog exists to give like minded guys and gals a blinding experience to places you wouldnt normally go, and all the while remebering that we can do all this whilst giving a little to charity.
Everyone’s idea of a good time is different. Everyone that takes part in Roadhog will make the event. Every car will have a different experience. Far be it for us to dictate your idea of fun. The main thing is to enter the spirit of Roadhog.
The more you put in the more you get out.
The car should cost no more than £500. You can find a car for much less these days. In past years we have spent as little as £350 on our cars and had no problems. How much you spend on the car after purchase is up to you. Every car is different. Some cars are painted in a professional work shop, some will be painted with a roller and brush. This all adds to the feel of the event. A novelty horn and lights seem to be the unofficial uniform of the event.
Of course there are things like petrol/Diesel. You can roughly work out those costs if you take 2200 miles as an average for the event. Your accommodation is included in the cost of the event. You will need to budget for food and other personal expenses every day. You will also be responsible for the cost to travel to the continent. We, however work tirelessly with providers to ensure a MASIVELY reduced rate 2012 with the help of our friends at P and O a flexi return fare was under £65 for the car and all competitors! And that was on a bank holiday! (If you are active enough you could find a small local business happy to sponsor your fare in return for a well positioned sticker on the car!
The spirit of the event is what is important, we can't prove you bought it for £1,000 or £1, and honestly we will not ask you to prove the cost. Your fellow entrants may quiz you over your car and it may have a bearing on their award votes.
If it's ridiculous you’ll probably be fine. There are no exceptions. Please remember size may effect transport costs.
Yes. A lot of our female entrants would prefer to use their own car. If you do, please try and make it as crazy as possible and make sure your team makes the most of your fancy dress choice.
A lot of entrants will use auction internet site. Auction sites would be my first call. Local garages take in part exchange and there are always those roadside cars, these are surprisingly good. We suggest buying a car with an MOT till the end of the drive, unless you know what you are doing, or trust the seller to tell you what is needed. All vehicles must be road legal and comply with UK and European law.
£199 per person with a minimum of 2 drivers / people per car.
Nearly all cars make the trip but I would be lying if I said every car makes it. If you are worried make sure you get good european roadside recovery. The AA do provide a tried and tested service.
We pride ourselves on providing you with a great experience from start to finish. Our challenges are some of the best out there and will keep you laughing for months. We have a support vehicle that carries generic spares but we can't carry everything. We have nightly activities and will provide music and entertainment every night. Each site will have an on site bar and all facilities you will need. The fact is that we will provide you with a once in a life time experience and that is something that we take very seriously. We do everything we can to give you great value for money. We do “whatever it takes” to make this a once in a life time experience.
No! We suggest that you take a manual for the car. We have a few spares in our support vehicle but due to the amount of different cars it's impossible to carry spares for all cars. There may be people on the drive who will be happy to help out if anything happens.
Insurance, MOT, a driving license, warning triangle, luminous jacket, fire extinguisher and first aid kit to comply with EU law. This is not an exhaustive list, so please make sure you comply with the laws and rules of the countries en-route.
Please check your policy and ensure that your car is covered for the drive. There are many companies out there that will provide temporary cover for your vehicle for very little if you are not covered.
If you are a company and wish to sponsor a car or indeed enter a couple of cars, then please contact us and we will happily put you in touch with interested parties.
Please see our refund policy elsewhere on the site.
The minimum is two occupants per car. It's for your own safety. Not only will it be a far better experience for you it is also too far to drive safely on your own.
We have a support van but this is not a breakdown vehicle. This said if we can help we will. We have all the telephone numbers of all the entrants. When a entrant breaks down we will try to contact fellow entrants to assist you. If we can pull you over the finish line we will.
Yes.
No.
Each car will cost a minimum of 2 occupants which is £398.
No, places are LIMITED. So book as soon as you are able to and avoid disappointment.
Unlike other events of this type we take pride in a Quality rather than Quantity experience.
We have joined events with 100 plus cars and can only say that the experience really suffers.
These events generally exist as a commercial business and revenue stream for organisers - eager for the next easy buck.
We usually take between 30-50 revellers and have the ratio of crew to entrants just right!
Which means that you are not just a number and you get the attention and experience you deserve, which I guess is what you want?
Racist material is not allowed . Everything else is good.
The people that attend our event can be any age. In fact we encourage it.
Don’t ever disrespect anyone on the rally.
Obey all the terms and conditions.
We welcome anyone from any country. You are very very welcome and encouraged to join.
We use campsites for accommodation. These site have great facilities. We travel to the campsites prior to the event and ensure that there are plenty of amenities on site. Please remember to bring a tent.
Yes, please adhere to the terms and conditions. These are in place for your safety and your fellow entrants.
A lot of people will re-list there cars on auction websites at the end of the drive or save it and use it again next year.
Email and we’ll answer it.
